Details
Description
Mark Thomas provided design services for improvements to the entrance of William R. Mason Regional Park. These services encompassed preliminary design (concept), PS&E, bidding support, and construction administration, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
William R. Mason Regional Park, a popular destination spanning 339 acres, offers a picturesque environment and various amenities to the community. The project’s primary goal was to improve the park’s entrance and address existing deficiencies. The following landscape solutions were implemented to achieve this objective:
- Integrated high-performing planting materials and pervious paving into the Drainage and Water Quality Improvements.
- Enhanced pedestrian and vehicle access through the refinement of park wayfinding signage, rehabilitation of pathways, and the use of safety-enhancing paving materials and patterns at trail crossings and the roundabout.
Applied aesthetic treatments to the park entrance, entry gateway, and a roundabout with upgraded flagpoles and bioswale to create a more pleasing experience for park users.
