Description
Mark Thomas prepared environmental clearance and final design for a new interchange connection at Potrero Boulevard along SR-60. The project includes a full-access Type L-9 interchange that eliminates existing at-grade intersections, enhancing safety and access control along SR-60.
Work involved preparing the project report, environmental documentation, and technical studies, as well as designing roadway and freeway elements, bridges, retaining walls, drainage systems, traffic signals, and ramp metering. Additional tasks included stormwater quality assessment, utility relocation coordination, and right of way support.
Potrero Boulevard will be widened to a six-lane roadway between Willow Springs Parkway and Western Knolls Avenue, which is also being realigned to reconnect with Potrero. The project includes widening the eastbound SR-60 San Timoteo Creek Bridge to accommodate a two-lane off-ramp and adding a westbound auxiliary lane and off-ramp.
Key components include highway widening and realignment, bridge and wall design, drainage and stormwater systems, Caltrans coordination and permitting, and detailed construction staging.
