Details
Description
Mark Thomas provided civil and structural design of the bridge, channel grading, signage & striping, temporary detour plans, and construction support. The existing Singleton Road crossing at Coyote Creek consisted of a paved roadway with two culverts that allow the Coyote Creek flows to pass underneath. The project removed the existing roadway, provided channel grading to remove all debris, downed trees, and creek sediment fills, and provided open channel flow that will allow fish to pass through year-round.
The new bridge consists of two salvaged flatcars with a span of 89 feet providing safe passage year-round for pedestrians and bicycles. The bridge width of the railcars placed side by side is 18 feet between the bridge railings. The flatcars sit on concrete abutments and the deck of the bridge has an asphalt overlay to tie into the road and trail on each side.
