Safety Action Plan

Mark Thomas developed the Countywide Safety & Action Plan to advance the County’s goals for transportation safety and support active modes of travel. The Safety & Action Plan developed a list of recommended future priority projects identified through technical analysis and community engagement. The plan serves the cities of Oroville, Gridley, Biggs, and the unincorporated areas of Butte County. The plans are cohesive with the rest of the County that include safe systems and use evidence-based strategies with the goal of zero deaths on roadways.

Mark Thomas collaborated with the Butte County Public Health Department Injury Prevention Health Education team and other agency staff to leverage technical data, other planning studies, and dynamic community engagement. Information was included as part of the effort for the development and creation of the dedicated Action Plans serving the cities of Oroville, Gridley, Biggs, and unincorporated Butte County, positioning for future implementation grant pursuits.
