Rocklin Road/Pacific Street Roundabout

Construction management and inspection services for conversion of a signalized intersection to a roundabout.

Details

Description

The intersection of Rocklin Road and Pacific Street in the City of Rocklin experienced heavy traffic. To alleviate this issue, the City replaced the signalized intersection with a roundabout. It involved reconstruction of approximately 350 feet of the intersection approaches along with the sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, drainage, medians, lighting, and landscaping. The concrete pavement within the intersection was removed and replaced with asphalt.

Mark Thomas provided construction management and inspection services for this project. We identified alternatives to allow vehicle access through the Rocklin Road and Pacific Street intersection during construction. This reduced congestion at the railroad tracks, enhanced vehicle and pedestrian safety during construction, and helped prevent queuing across the tracks. This high-profile project also required coordination with Caltrans, residents, business owners, and different agencies.
