Details

Description

Mark Thomas provided environmental clearance and final design for the widening and new grade separation of Lathrop Road from two to four lanes from east of I-5 to just east of McKinley Avenue. The first construction phase of the project involved the design of a new grade separation overhead at the UPRR tracks.

Mark Thomas completed the final PS&E for the second phase of the project from Harlan Road to 5th Street. This phase included widening the existing roadway from two to four lanes with a new landscaped center median. The roadway widening was on the north side of Lathrop Road, which will introduce right-of-way acquisitions from 15 parcels. The existing pavement was rehabilitated using the Full Depth Recycling (FDR) method.

The project also included the modification of the traffic signal at the Hanlan Road/Lathrop Road intersection, a new signal at the Cambridge Drive/Lathrop Road intersection, and street lighting. The project included significant utility coordination with PG&E, telecommunications, and others.
