El Cerrito del Norte BART Station Improvements

Mark Thomas was on a team that delivered final design which included the concourse, bus stops and platforms, landscape and irrigation and parking lot redesign. As part of these services, Mark Thomas prepared storm water design in compliance with C.3 requirements, performed bicycle and pedestrian circulation analysis, relocated the passenger drop off lane, analyzed and modified bus circulation improvements.

The project included the expansion of the BART paid area, new facilities including elevators and stairs were added to both sides of the platform. Also, new station agent booth, multi-user restrooms, staff restrooms, staff break room, storage and utility spaces were constructed. The station expansion required the reconfiguration and relocation of multiple bus berths and reconfiguration of the parking lot was necessary to accommodate the relocation of the “Kiss and Ride” drop off are.
