Details

Description

Mark Thomas provided design for bicycle and pedestrian improvements on Caribbean Drive and Bay Trail access improvements. The project includes relocation of the Bay Trail trailhead from Carl Road to Caribbean Drive to make room for the City’s Water Pollution Control Plant program upgrades. The Caribbean Drive improvements include a buffered Class II bike lane and green infrastructure, such as bioretention basins, which were placed at regular intervals between the parking spaces. The project also added parallel parking to Caribbean Drive by taking the outside travel lane and converting it to parking spaces. The project also included striping, signal modifications, signal timing updates, and wayfinding signage to direct trail users to the new parking and trailhead location.
