Description

Mark Thomas designed this Highway Bridge Program (HBP)-funded bridge replacement project in Placer County. The bridge, located on Brewer Road, is a rural two-lane facility crossing Pleasant Grove Creek. The original bridge was 120 feet long and had a status of functionally obsolete with a sufficiency rating of 46.1 out of 100.

The bridge was replaced with a 156-foot long, three-span, cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete slab. The new structure profile is raised and the bridge length extended to provide a minimum of three feet of freeboard above a 200-year storm design, consistent with the Central Valley Flood Protection Board’s hydraulic requirements.
