Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency | Pacheco Pass Wildlife Overcrossing

Today marks a significant step forward in our commitment to biological conservation and ensuring safer roads for all.
We’re excited to share the first conceptual rendering of a wildlife overcrossing for SR-152 in the Pacheco Pass area. This project aims to improve movement and genetic exchange between populations of mountain lion (a candidate for listing under the California Endangered Species Act), and tule elk, although several other plant and wildlife species will also benefit from its completion.
The rendering, produced by Mark Thomas, is a testament to the power of collaboration between biological scientists, engineers, philanthropic organizations, and government agencies. We’d like to acknowledge the Wildlife Conservation Network (California Wildlife Program), Wildlife Conservation Board (Wildlife Corridor and Fish Passage Program), and Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation for their financial contributions to this important effort.
We look forward to sharing more information about this project in the future. Stay tuned!
