Mokelumne Trail Pedestrian and Bicycle Overcrossing Now Open for Public Use

March 20, 2024

We were thrilled to attend the ribbon cutting for the Mokelumne Trail Pedestrian and Bicycle Overcrossing spanning State Route 4 for the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) today!

We designed the 900-foot overcrossing which closes a gap in the Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail (MCCT) created by the highway’s expansion. The overcrossing provides safe access to cyclists and pedestrians through several Northern California regions, including the Bay Area shoreline, East Bay foothills, Delta sloughs, and wetlands, San Joaquin valley farmland, Mokelumne River valleys & canyons, the Sierra foothills, and the future East County Intermodal Transit Center.
