Mark Thomas Provides Construction Management for Washington Boulevard Roundabout Project in Roseville

Mark Thomas is providing construction management and inspection services for a new roundabout at Washington Boulevard and All-American City Boulevard in the City of Roseville.
The project includes the construction of a multi-lane roundabout to control vehicle movements through the intersection. The roundabout was selected instead of a traffic signal to reduce conflict points between vehicles, increase multimodal safety, reduce emissions, and provide for corridor aesthetics. The Lincoln Street approach on the southeast side of the intersection was realigned and this project will add multi-use pathways to connect to bike lanes and add new sidewalks and crosswalks.
This project is bounded by Union Pacific Railroad tracks, The Grounds Event Center, businesses, and the nearby Woodbridge Elementary School. The project includes replacing approximately 300 feet of 16” ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main, new 36” reinforced concrete pipes (RCP) storm drain, a jointed plain concrete pavement (JPCP) lane within the circle, and new landscaping and urban design features within the center island.
Due to the number of stakeholders involved in this project, we implemented and established a construction management information system (CMIS) for group communication so that field crews could coordinate on-site activities and keep stakeholders up to date daily.
