Mark Thomas Leads Construction Management for Artesia Boulevard Bridge Repair and Replacement in Compton

Mark Thomas is providing construction management and inspection services for the Artesia Boulevard Over Alameda Street and ACTA/UPRR Bridge Repair Project in the City of Compton.
The existing bridge sustained fire damage from an unhoused encampment, and steel girders exhibited significant distortion as a result. The bridge replacement consists of a 49-foot long, 1-span steel girder bridge supported on seat abutments and bent/pier columns. Our team is working with the City to replace the existing, fire-damaged Span 10 and a portion of span 9 of the bridge due to the severity of fire damage to the steel girder members and their connections. The project work will not impact Compton Creek, however, a portion of span 9 that is being replaced extends into the existing railroad right of way and is expected to be completed by late Summer this year.
