Mark Thomas joined the Santa Cruz County RTC at the WTS San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Gala to accept the Project of the Year Award for the Highway 1 Chanticleer Pedestrian Overcrossing, advancing safer, more connected travel.
Mark Thomas attended the WTS San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Scholarship & Awards Gala, where we were honored to accept the Project of the Year Award alongside the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission for the Highway 1 Chanticleer Pedestrian Overcrossing.
Our team provided final design services for this critical connection, delivering a 780-foot bicycle and pedestrian overcrossing that creates a safe, dedicated route across Highway 1. Designed through close coordination with Caltrans and local partners and shaped by community engagement, the structure connects neighborhoods, businesses, and key destinations while enhancing both safety and mobility for all users.
We are proud to be part of a project that not only improves day-to-day travel for the Santa Cruz community but also advances a more connected, accessible, and sustainable transportation network.
