FRAMES Study Recognized by APA California for Advancing Active Transportation
The FRAMES study earned statewide recognition from APA California for advancing safer, more connected walking and biking routes across Orange County through thoughtful planning, community engagement, and strategic design recommendations.
The Freeway Ramp Active Mobility Enhancement Study (FRAMES) for Caltrans District 12 was recognized by the American Planning Association (APA) California Chapter at the statewide conference on October 4th. FRAMES advanced active transportation planning throughout Orange County by evaluating freeway ramp and arterial intersections to identify safety and mobility improvements for people walking and biking.
Our team analyzed existing conditions and available data, collaborated closely with Caltrans, stakeholders, and the public through workshops and technical meetings, and developed planning-level designs and recommendations to improve safety at some of the region’s highest-stress roadway crossings. The study also helped prioritize locations and strategies for the District 12 California Active Transportation Plan, creating a roadmap for safer, more connected travel options across the county. This recognition reflects the power of thoughtful planning, meaningful community engagement, and a shared commitment to creating transportation networks that work for everyone.
