A New Chapter in Trail Connectivity: Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing Opens in San Ramon
The new Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing in San Ramon is open! Our team helped deliver this safe, accessible bridge on time and under budget, improving mobility and safety along one of the East Bay’s most popular trails.
Last month marked an exciting milestone with the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Iron Horse Trail Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing at Bollinger Canyon Road in the City of San Ramon. Our team was proud to support COWI in delivering this transformative infrastructure project, which replaces a busy at-grade crossing with a safe and accessible bridge. The new overcrossing significantly improves safety and connectivity along the Iron Horse Trail, one of the most heavily used pedestrian and bicycle corridors in the East Bay.
The project was completed on time and under budget using the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) delivery method. This collaborative approach allowed the construction manager to contribute valuable input during the design phase, leading to a more efficient and cost-effective result. The Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing stands as a strong example of how thoughtful design and teamwork can create lasting benefits for the community by improving both mobility and safety.
