Michael brings over three decades of experience in construction management, scheduling and claims management for bridge and highway construction projects. He has been a Construction Manager, Resident Engineer, and Structures Representative on large and complex earthwork projects with new alignments as well as large, complex bridge projects. Michael specializes in providing Resident Engineering on highway/bridge with Caltrans oversight for Bay Area Transportation Agencies. Michael is well-versed in contract claims and scheduling and has extensive experience in claims management and mitigation.
Michael is also an experienced Structure Representative and has managed contracts with projects involving all types of bridge structures, including cast-in-place box girders, steel, and precast concrete, with drilled shaft foundations, multiple frames, and multiple construction stages. Michael has also worked on various types of retaining walls, such as tie-backs, soil nail, and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. Michael is familiar with the use of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) procedures and specifications for bridge construction. Michael is considered an expert in constructability and biddability reviews, performing reviews for Caltrans, San Francisco County Transportation Authority, Contra Costa Transportation Authority, Alameda County Transportation Commission, Solano Transportation Authority, Bay Area Toll Authority, City of Stockton, City of Modesto, City of Antioch, and the SR 4 Bypass Authority. Michael has a long and proven track record of successfully delivering projects to various agencies.
