Matt brings is experienced in the design and construction of complex bridges as a project manager and bridge engineer. His experience includes dozens of alternative delivery projects, including design-build and construction manager/general contractor (CM/GC) delivery. He has led many projects from concept through construction and managed design teams of up to 20 technical staff for some of the largest bridge projects in the United States, including leading the superstructure design team for the delivering the 2230-foot twin cable-stayed main span of the $4B Tappan Zee Bridge (Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge) over the Hudson River in New York. His California experience includes leading as Engineer of Record (EoR) the Iron Horse Trail/Bollinger Canyon Road cable-stayed pedestrian bridge in San Ramon, and the Mt. Vernon Viaduct in San Bernardino that crosses over 23 rail tracks. At Mark Thomas, Matt leverages his experience and expertise to help lead our growing structures team and will continue to deliver complex and signature structures for public agencies.
