David brings over four decades of technical and management experience gained on a broad range of transportation engineering projects. His experience ranges from early planning stages, environmental clearance, final design, through to construction completion. He has managed and been involved in the preparation of many project development and PS&E packages for local streets, highway and interchange improvements, bicycle/pedestrian, park, airport, transit, and land development projects. He specializes in the design of express lanes and tolling facilities for major highways and freeways.

Where are you from?
Born and grew up near the City of Melbourne in Australia, got my degree in civil engineering, and worked there for the first four years of my career before moving to America.
What’s a fun fact about you?
My dad designed and built his own offshore power boats and raced them while I was growing up in Australia. My sisters and I learnt to water ski behind his boat on the open ocean. I was lucky to own my own ski boat here in Sacramento and had fun times with my wife and kids as they grew up wakeboarding out at Folsom Lake.
What's your favorite way to spend a weekend?
I love to go paddleboarding at Lake Natoma in Folsom in the early mornings before it gets too busy (and hot in the summertime). Spend time with my grandson and gardening.
