Description

Mark Thomas provided field surveying and right of way engineering services for the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) for Los Angeles World Airports. This $5.5 billion program (LAMP) includes the installation of a Consolidated Rental Car (CONRAC) facility, a 2.3 mile Automated People Mover (APM) system, two Intermodal Transportation Facilities (ITFs) housing over 16,000 parking spaces, and several miles of roadway/infrastructure.

Mark Thomas was responsible for the field surveying and boundary retracement services for a 2+ square mile area north of the airport, mapping of several hundred easements, and a record of survey. Mark Thomas also led the development of all right of way requirements, including foundation, drainage, utility, roadway, and aerial guideway easements for over 100 property interests.

We identified numerous areas to refine the alignment or alternative methods for construction of improvements that saved approximately $50 million in construction/acquisition costs within the project limits.
