Description
The cities of Yorba Linda and Anaheim are proposing improvements to alleviate the heavy congestion along Yorba Linda Boulevard, particularly during the afternoon peak hours. This includes the addition of a fourth northbound lane between SR-91 and La Palma Avenue. Three intersections at La Palma Avenue, Savi Ranch Parkway and Santa Ana Canyon, are also to be widened to provide additional turning capacity and storage to address queuing.
Mark Thomas is preparing final design for this $32M roadway and bridge widening and improvements project. These improvements also promote active transportation and alternative modes of travel through the corridor, with a protected bike and pedestrian pathway that links Savi Ranch to the regional trails. With these improvements, residents and commuters will experience a better quality of life. Work includes widening of the 775-foot long, five span bridge over the Santa Ana River, several new bicycle facilities including Class I barrier separated and Class IV bikeways, roadway widening, retaining walls, traffic signal modifications, off-site improvements, regulatory permitting, utility relocations right of way acquisition and construction staging.
