Sasha is focused on planning, designing, and delivering a wide variety of transportation and infrastructure projects throughout California. Sasha’s professional success stems from a unique combination of broad technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and an ability to communicate complicated technical ideas in an understandable way to a wide range of audiences, both technical and non-technical. Sasha’s background in transportation design on and off the Caltrans system, familiarity with Caltrans Project development process, and Caltrans design, planning, and environmental requirements bring value to clients. Sasha has led numerous complex projects through all phases of project development, from planning to feasibility, PID, PA/ED, PS&E, and construction. In addition to traditional highway projects, Sasha leads Mark Thomas’ wildlife crossing design practice, bridging the ecological necessity for improved wildlife connectivity with the complexities and nuances of the Caltrans project development process and design standards.

Born and raised in Oakland, California.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I can cook, sew, and I love sports. I played collegiate lacrosse and was the head coach of the St. Mary’s College men’s lacrosse team for 6 years, winning our division four times and one League Championship. I also played competitive horse polo.
What's your favorite way to spend a weekend?
Skiing or golfing with my friends and family in Olympic Valley, California.
What's a book that you'd recommend?
I don’t really read for pleasure. I liked Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. I also love to listen to the Empire Podcast.
