Description

Mark Thomas designed the new Soscol Gateway Transit Center, located in downtown Napa between the Napa Wine Train, Fourth Street, and Burnell Street. Improvements feature an 8,300-square foot building, 10 bus bays, rider shelters, information kiosks, 44 onsite shared parking spaces, static and real-time signage, wayfinding and a public art component.

The project was on an accelerated timetable since the original transit center was to become inaccessible due to the USACE’s planned removal of the Coombs Street Bridge as a part of their flood control project on the Napa River. The new transit center building serves multiple uses, housing both administrative offices and transit center operations.
