Description
Mark Thomas led design of this widening of 2.3 miles of roadway from SR 99 through Yosemite Avenue. The project includes a four-lane expansion, a landscaped median, sound walls, bike lanes, intersection modifications, and the widening of Dead Horse Slough Bridge.
Mark Thomas led the environmental clearance and advanced multiple final design phases as funding became available. The corridor was divided into three construction phases: Phase 1 widened the roadway from SR 99 to El Monte Avenue; Phase 2 included SR 99 ramps, signals, pavement rehab, and bike/ped access; and Phase 3 extended widening to Yosemite Avenue.
Mark Thomas also assisted with pavement rehabilitation using digouts, overlays, and Cold Foam asphalt restoration.
