East Blithedale Avenue Improvements

Mark Thomas prepared final design and provided construction management and inspection services for East Blithedale Avenue in the City of Mill Valley. Design elements include upgrades to existing signal infrastructure, pavement rehabilitation, widening existing bikeways, and improvements to pedestrian crossing paths along the corridor from Sunnyside Avenue to US 101. The project also included new rectangular rapid flashing beacons and crossing improvements funded through HSIP Cycle 10.

The project is subdivided into three phases to address funding limits and to mitigate impacts to residents and businesses during construction. Phase 1 is from Highway 101 to Camino Alto, Phase 2 is from Camino Alto to Elm Avenue, and Phase 3 is from Elm Avenue to Sunnyside Avenue.
