Mark Thomas Selected to Lead PA&ED Phase for Dr. MLK Jr. Boulevard Underpass Reconstruction in Stockton

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been selected to deliver the Project Approval and Environmental Document (PA&ED) phase of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr (MLK) Boulevard Underpass Reconstruction Project in the City of Stockton, CA!
The project will reconstruct the 1937 depressed roadway and construct new railroad bridges to carry Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks over Dr. MLK Jr Boulevard. It will demolish the existing bridges and associated facilities and will reconstruct Dr. MLK Jr Boulevard to provide complete streets facilities with uninterrupted community connectivity east and west of the railroad corridor. This project is jointly sponsored by the City of Stockton and San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC) and will be developed in conjunction with the Stockton Diamond Grade Separation project, which is currently in final design. The Stockton Diamond Grade separation will eliminate the existing at-grade rail intersection of the UPRR and the Burlington, Northern, and Santa Fe Railway (BNSF). Once both projects are completed, they will provide significant improvements to freight rail, passenger vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. These improvements will enhance safety and community connectivity in the area.
