Mark Thomas Selected for Gerber Creek Bridge Replacement Design, Enhancing Safety and Accessibility in Sacramento County

We’re excited to announce that we’ve been selected to provide design and consulting services for the Gerber Creek Bridge Replacement project for Sacramento County!
The existing bridge along Gerber Road at Gerber Creek was built in 1948 and is approximately 22 feet long and 30.33 feet wide, located approximately 0.2 miles west of Bradshaw Road. It comprises a cast-in-place single-span reinforced concrete slab supported by cantilever seat-type abutments founded on spread footings and carries one traffic lane in each direction. The Gerber Creek Road bridge crosses over Horse Creek in a low-density residential flat vineyard area in central Sacramento County approximately 5 miles east of SR 99, and provides access across the creek to communities and agricultural properties north and south of Gerber Road.
Our team has proposed to replace the existing bridge with a wider structure to accommodate roadway improvements designed by Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SACDOT) for the Bradshaw Road and Gerber Road Improvement Project, which includes separated sidewalks and new Class II bike lanes.
