Mark Thomas Selected to Lead Rossmoor Bar Trail Enhancements Planning Project to Improve Accessibility and Preserve Natural Habitat

June 11, 2024

We’re excited to announce that we have been selected to provide planning and design services for the Rossmoor Bar Trail Enhancements Planning Project for the City of Rancho Cordova!

Our team recently supported the City on a grant application to the Wildlife Conservation Board for the project. The application was awarded funding to advance environmental clearance and 65% design on trail enhancements within the American River Parkway, a 32-mile regional park along the American River in Sacramento County. The application focused on the restoration of the natural habitat, adhering to state plans and the American River Parkway Master Plan, and creating accessible, unpaved trails.

The project will formalize and enhance the recreational hiking trail system to improve accessibility, navigability, and engagement with the natural environment and includes surface improvements of existing established dirt trails with decomposed granite and trail borders. The surface improvements will result in a more comfortable walking experience for all users and meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for accessible pathways where feasible.
