Roadway Project Engineer - Ontario

OFFICE LOCATION: Inland Empire

As a Roadway Project Engineer you will assist in technical design and coordinate tasks to bring transportation projects to their completion; including the preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, exhibits, reports and technical calculations; and coordination with internal team members, and sub-consultants.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Coordinating and supporting construction activities
  • Verifying accuracy of project plans, cost estimates, quantities, reports and exhibits
  • Applying knowledge of engineering procedures to applicable projects and assignments
  • Participating at a committee level in professional organizations
  • Mentoring and managing an internal design team
  • Conducting in-house technical training to staff to ensure compliance with drafting standards project requirements, and current engineering practices

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • BS and/or MS in Civil/Transportation Engineering
  • Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California
  • QSD/QSP certification and experience with drainage and hydraulics projects, preferred
  • 5+ years as a Roadway Design Engineer with progressive experience in design, leading to project management responsibilities
  • Specific experience and familiarity with Caltrans standards and requirements for the preparation roadway design, utility design, and traffic handing and stage construction plans
  • Knowledge of he design and construction of Express Lanes
  • Knowledge & proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Microstation and InRoads
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
