Almost 2500 years ago Plato noted that "the beginning is the most important part of the work." More than 75 years ago, Mark Thomas founded his firm on that principle. He knew that solid engineering has everything to do with a project’s success. From 1927 until after WW II, Thomas maintained a solo practice that ensured he was directly involved in every project. In 1947, he hired Aldo Savio, beginning the steady growth of what was to become Mark Thomas & Company. Even as the firm grew to five principals by the late 1950s, the belief in management involvement in every project never faltered.
Today Mark Thomas & Company carries on that tradition of senior management involvement. That level of care has allowed the firm to become Northern California’s leading transportation engineering firm, and a leading provider of land surveying, site development, infrastructure improvements, environmental and municipal engineering services.
