When Mark Thomas opened his practice in 1927, he single-handedly offered civil engineering and land surveying. Though we’ve increased our numbers considerably, it’s a service combination we’ve continued. Our land surveying division has grown to become one of California’s largest, most ably staffed, and technically sophisticated providers. The division supports our in-house design and engineering and subcontracts survey and map services to other professionals and organizations. In addition to the scheduling convenience offered for our engineering clients, we feel both disciplines benefit from the close working arrangement. The ability to communicate quickly and directly with engineers enables survey crews to understand the project intricacies and objectives. The greater awareness reduces questions, eliminates return site visits, and improves data quality. Our crews are available for projects throughout Northern California and use the latest laser, GPS, digital, and software technologies.
