Wood Creek Oaks Boulevard, Roseville

The Project

PS&E for widening of a 1-mile segment of Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard in the City of Roseville. The project widened the Boulevard from 2 to 4 lanes, and added dual left turn lanes at Junction Boulevard and Pleasant Grove Boulevard. Pavement rehabilitation was also completed with this project, using a combination of pavement digouts and rubberized asphalt concrete overlay. Mark Thomas provided geometric design, PS&E preparation, utility coordination, and storm drain design as well as signing and striping, demolition plans, stage construction plans, typical sections and various estimates.

The Challenges

Woodcreek Oaks High School is adjacent to the project, and improvements were to be constructed during summer recess. In order to meet this schedule, the PS&E was designed and approved in less than 2 months.

The Results

Developing the PS&E package on-time allowed the City to construct the project within a narrow construction window. The project was completed with no disruptions to Woodcreek Oaks High School and with minimal disruptions to adjacent residents and businesses.
