The Project

MTCo provided public works engineering and assistance and grant funding administration for the City of Lathrop and also served as the Acting Public Works Director during 2007, including development of public works fiscal year budget.

The Challenges

Since its' incorporation, the City of Lathrop experienced double digit growth and it was the sixth fastest growing city in the State of California in 2007. Residential and commercial development took off and the City's infrastructure could not meet the demands of this growth. At the time the City could not attract enough public works staff to address the demands of the added growth. The City needed an experienced manager to help chart a course to help solve the City's infrastructure deficiencies and address the day to day problems within the Department.

The Results

MTCo's services provided orderly developments of projects, while seeking opportunities to improve the City's infrastructure as part of the development improvements. In addition, MTCo was able to help mentor Staff in the duties performed in the City.
